History- The Sporting News was a baseball publication at heart and every issue (winter or summer) had a report on every major league team.  By 1967, however, it was, somewhat grudgingly, covering the other sports, such as football, basketball, hockey, auto racing and so on. 

In addition to several columns and a week’s worth of box scores for all major league and Triple-A games, this issue has a couple of historic nuggets.  First of all, it lists every player (1,169 to be exact) selected in the 1967 Major League Free Agent Draft.  For hockey fans it lists all players chosen by the six new teams in the NHL’s first expansion draft.  In this draft the league doubled its size from six to 12 teams.

Condition- Very Good.  This 60-year-old newsprint publication is browning around the edges and has wear on the spine.  There is some tape on the tape edge of the spine where the page was separating.

Because of its large size this magazine will be sent folded.
